We are deeply saddened and extend our heartfelt condolences to all of the victims of the latest tragedies that have occurred in the past few weeks.
From the mass shootings in nearby Half Moon Bay and Monterey Park, to the murder of Tyre Nichols by police in Memphis, too many innocent lives have already been lost to gun violence and police brutality in 2023.
The communities that we at the Kapor Center come from, that we serve, and that we deeply care about continue to be disproportionately impacted by these tragedies and we grieve with them.
As we, the Kapor family of organizations, work towards our mission to create a more equitable tech ecosystem, we will continue to support initiatives and invest in organizations and leaders working to dismantle systemic racism and create safe, just, and thriving communities.
We call on others in the tech, philanthropic, and education communities to double-down on the commitments made to racial equity following the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and countless others, so that we can realize the structural change desperately needed across our economic, educational, health, and criminal justice systems.
In solidarity and community.
