Erica Johnson

Chief People Officer

Erica Johnson is a people and culture leader with over two decades of experience helping organizations build more equitable, high-performing workplaces where employees can thrive and the organization can perform more effectively. She focuses on aligning people strategy with organizational goals, strengthening leadership, fostering cultures of belonging and accountability, and creating the systems and experiences that enable teams to succeed.

Erica served as Vice President of Employee Experience at Chime, leading employee engagement, DEB (Diversity, Equity, and Belonging), and workplace and real estate strategy during a period of rapid growth toward a successful public offering. She previously served as Vice President of People at Nitro Software, where she led the people function through the company’s international expansion and successful public listing.

She also consults with small and mid-sized organizations on people strategy, culture, and organizational effectiveness, most recently partnering with the UC Berkeley Alumni Association. When she’s not helping organizations build strong people-focused cultures, Erica enjoys hiking, gardening, experimenting with new recipes, and exploring new places. She lives in Oakland, CA.
