Join the Real Future team, including Fusion’s Editor-at-Large Alexis Madrigal, for creative conversations about how technology is changing our lives. For our second annual fair we are taking over the Oakland Museum of California, with experiential gems like our Fusion VR project Mars 2030, and our Meme Gallery.

We open the day with special guest Edward Snowden in conversation with Kashmir Hill on Democracy in Virtual Worlds, and that’s only the beginning! We’ll also have a keynote from badass Malkia Cyril on E-carceration and the Future of Policing, a roundtable discussion on diversity in tech where we save YOU a seat at the table, the results from our hackathon against violence, an anti-harassment panel titled ‘An Internet Without A**HOLES’, and a closing keynote by the first woman of color in space, Dr. Mae Jemison.
In the evening we will be opening the All Power to the People: Black Panthers at 50 exhibit, hosting Octavia’s Brood editor Walidah Imarisha to talk about science fiction as a social justice practice, and enjoying a musical performance by Sammus!
