E4FC’s National Educator Conference

January 25, 2014 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Do you work with undocumented students?

Join teachers, counselors, school administrators, community leaders and allies from California and beyond for a daylong conference about empowering, supporting and advocating for undocumented students!

Since last year’s Educator Conference, we’ve seen tremendous movement on the federal, state and local level! Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals has offered over 450,000 undocumented young people nationwide work authorization and protection from deportation. Both the U.S. Senate and House have introduced comprehensive immigration reform bills. Twenty states now offer in-state tuition to undocumented students and/or DACA beneficiaries. California joined four other states in disbursing state-based financial aid to undocumented students. And, just this fall, California signed laws to limit interaction with immigration enforcement, provide driver’s licenses to undocumented Californians and allow undocumented people to enter the CA State Bar!

None of this would have been possible without the tireless advocacy of undocumented young people and the dedication of their educators and allies!
