Jenna Discher (She/Her)

Chief People Officer

Jenna Discher is the Chief People Officer of the Kapor Center, and thinks of herself as a culture maven. People embody values. Values dictate behaviors. Behaviors personify culture. People are culture. Jenna received her B.A. from Tufts University where she majored in Spanish and minored in Entrepreneurial Leadership Studies. She received her M.S. in HR Management & Development from New York University, her hometown. She is a career-changer who champions the deep learning and insights that nonlinear career paths of exploration and measured experimentation often afford.

Jenna brings two decades of People Operations, HR, and Project Management experience in financial services, media, FinTech, AgriTech, and consulting to the Kapor Center. Jenna’s HR philosophies are rooted in a passion for companies enabling people to do their best work, recognizing people for their talents, and fostering inclusive environments where each unique identity is honored. These principles fuel how she has
designed approaches, programs, and practices in her most recent roles as Generalist, HR Business Partner, VP of People, and Principal Consultant of her own consultancy.

The great-granddaughter of a Jamaican cricket player, George Headley, it’s an honor for her to carry on his namesake in her consulting company, Headley Advisory. In her spare time, she loves to volunteer an array of career services, mentor, read, eat, cook, bake, connect with family and friends, play with her two cats, and mountain bike with her husband and father-in-law. Empathy, Integrity, Excellence, and Authenticity are her personal guiding values.
