Jameela Carnell
Ecosystem Building CoordinatorJameela Carnell is a Los Angeles native who is dedicated to cultivating ecosystems that provide equitable opportunities for underserved innovators. Her commitment to building inclusive communities has led her to her current role as the Ecosystem Building Program Coordinator at The Kapor Center. There, she develops and implements programs and initiatives that support underrepresented innovators in the VC and tech ecosystems.
Prior to joining Kapor, Jameela served as Program Manager at HBCUvc, managing the PledgeLA arm of their VC Fellowship and Lab Fund portfolio. Her extensive background in education, entrepreneurship, and venture capital has fueled her passion for creating opportunities for underrepresented entrepreneurs and future venture capital leaders. Jameela’s current interests center around addressing programmatic challenges and developing unique solutions in innovative and transformative ways.
Jameela’s future goals include becoming an ecosystem builder by acquiring the knowledge and experience needed to provide greater opportunities and resources for underrepresented communities. With her drive, dedication, and experience, Jameela is committed to making a lasting impact on underrepresented innovators and the broader VC and tech industry.
