Did you know that the Latinx community is the second largest ethnic group in America made up of 52 million people? By 2060, over a quarter of the entire U.S. population will be Latinx – that’s about 119MM people and over a trillion dollar market that remains untapped – until now!
Join us for the biggest Startup Weekend in history! We’re bringing 500 Latinxs and allies together for 54 hours in 5 cities – Oakland, LA, Chicago, Miami and New York – to ideate and design tech solutions to the problems affecting the Latinx community. Participants will be mentored by some of the brightest minds in tech, business, and development. Stay tuned for amazing judges, mentors, and community members.
Oakland is our home, a city whose diversity, scrappy reputation, history of social justice, and proximity to Silicon Valley sets it up perfectly to be the epicenter of the social impact tech ecosystem. As the Kapor Center states, the Town is on its way to becoming the home of “tech done right!”

What is Startup Weekend?
In just 54 hours, you will experience the highs, lows, fun, and pressure that make up life at a startup. As you learn how to create a real company, you’ll meet the very best mentors, investors, co-founders, and sponsors who are ready to help you get started. Startup Weekend is a 54-hour weekend event, during which groups of developers, business managers, startup enthusiasts, marketing gurus, graphic artists and more pitch ideas for new startup companies, form teams around those ideas, and work to develop a working prototype, demo, or presentation by Sunday evening. Startup Weekend has grown into an organization with a global presence. As of December 2016, Startup Weekend has reached 135 countries, involving over 210,000 entrepreneurs.
