The Center of tech done right — in the heart of Oakland
Located in Uptown—2148 Broadway–the Kapor Center is where the Oakland tech and social justice communities come together to leverage information technology to solve real world problems.
The Center is home to all three entities: Kapor Capital, the Kapor Center for Social Impact, and the Level Playing Field Institute. But it’s also designed to be gathering space for the Oakland community.
We would like for the Kapor Center to become a destination for robust conversations and action around tech, diversity and inclusion, and social impact. We are excited about working with other organizations and companies to co-host effective and compelling events. Our facilities include:
- Conference rooms for meetings and roundtables;
- A rooftop reception area and indoor café; and
- An auditorium that seats up to 100 people.

The bottom floor of the Center is a 4,000-foot dining experience from Chef Octavio Diaz, bringing traditional cooking, culture and energy of Oaxaca, Mexico to Oakland. The restaurant includes a lively dining area and a grab-and-go counter, and the bar features an array of mescals and craft cocktails inspired by the chef’s home.
